Massachusetts teen who was turned away at US embassy while stuck in Colombia receiving help to hopefully return to family in Revere
After more than a month stuck outside of the country, a teenager who lost a physical copy of her green card might have a chance to be reunited with her aunt in Massachusetts.
“There was a reason that I reached out to you, and to you as a person of the press to help me get this story out there, and it was that I thought that if anybody knew that a story as compelling as this was going to get out there that they might be compelled to do something about it,” said Joseph Molina Flynn, Fernandez’s attorney.
Consular officials responded to Flynn with available appointments. Fernandez is expected at the U.S. Embassy in Bogota on Feb. 22.
